Match Report

Bodmin vs Caradon. The weather held and umpires Carl and Mike started the game, Bodmin with the bare 11 started slowly against league leaders Caradon, who showed there  quick pass and moving and a good high press forcing much mis-passing from Bodmin, eventually Caradon got the first goal. Bodmin fought back to make it 1-1 with a goal from Peter from a well worked short corner. Bodmin gained a lot of confidence from the goal and began to get into the game. A shot at keeper robin was unfortunately played straight back to the Caradon forward who capitalised on advantage and smartly tucked the ball away. A couple minutes after brothers Nial and Hugh failed to link up from the push out and again Caradon pounced to make it 3 to the visitors. A late short corner led to a great flick by Hugh into the bottom right hand corner. 3-2 half time score to Caradon. Clare gave a calm half time talk and Bodmin with a classic pass and move game started to retain possession and forced several short corners Ed despatching the third goal. The last ten minutes was tight with Bodmin learning from the week before attacked solidly but also kept a great defence. Four minutes to go and Caradon won a penalty corner and a deep intake of breath was heard from the side line. Caradon once again went for a high flick but Bodmin’s captain and man of the match once again proved equal and dived to palm away.

Final score 3-3 all.
Mom = Robin a great day in goal.
Dod = Tim for having a two minute rest after stopping the ball with his foot in a blatant case of cheating alas the umpire didn’t actually card him but Tim spent two minutes on the side line any way. “Always play to the whistle “ said Sage Mark at team teas!!
