The first game of the day began at 11.00, being an inter club game between the newly formed mens 3's and the ladies team consisting of a mixture of the 2's and 3's. Both teams new it was a friendly game, but both wanted to win the game. The first half was dominated by the mens 3's who showed some excelent passing and team work throughout this half, but the women showed the men just how quickly things could be turned around with switching the play around and putting the pressure on the men to retreat back. Come the end of the first half the men came out ontop and showed high expectations for the next half. From the start of the second half, the men were more tired than the women and they capitalised on this. This half started with the men in total control of the pitch, with the majority of possession and many chances on goal it was only a matter of time before they converted these chance to results. With a short corner which resulted in a second then third, this third was a text book example of how to score a goal from a short corner, with a perfect injection to the top of the D, a speedy slip to the right all before slotting the ball in the back of the net. The women had a goal to bring them back into the game and did so with an amazing goal. The rest of the game was then very back an forth with both sides getting chances on goal, one of which the men capitalised on from a quick conversion, from a short corner storming up the pitch and getting one of the last goals of the game. The game ended in the favour of 6 -1 to the men.

The game which followed was one between the energetic 1's and a youthfull CSM team. Both teams were showing a high level of fitness in their respective warm up drills, it was certainly going to be a good game for all. From the start both teams started off like a slient movie, despite this both got on with it keeping their heads up looking for those passes. As the game progressed both teams started to raise the noise level and this led to more chances on goal, and after an unfortunate short corner, CSM had the first goal. But Bodmin kept their heads up and pursued CSM to level the score, moving as a team and defending all together. With the first half over a half time talk took place and seem to do the trick, as from the start of the second half they continued to talk and work as one. Both teams continued to fight with the 1's getting some exceptional shots on goal, short corners and sucessful goals. An unfortunate defending mishap resulted in a penalty flick against Bodmin, which unfortunatly did not go Bodmins way. Bodmin did not Win nor Lose, finishing with a very respectable 4 all draw with this filling the 1's with the determination to beat CSM in the official league match.

Once again our teams were wearing the new shirts representing the team sponsors who we would like to thank again: iJo Power, G&W co., D2C Signs, Rundle & CO AGRI, County Mortgages, Dunbia for all pitching in to get the team shirts and not forgetting Ruthern Valley Holidays for providing the keepers shirts, also our goal sponsor Garage Vitals for donating our new goals. Once again we have some pictures of our teams modeling the new shirts, this week it is the mens 1's, mens 3's as well as the mixture of the Ladies 2's & 3's.

Ben Tucker Sun, 24 Sep 2023 11:40:43 +0100 http://bodminhc.clubbuzz.co.uk/news/final_pre_season_friendly http://bodminhc.clubbuzz.co.uk/news/final_pre_season_friendly Men's Pre-season Friendlies
The day began with the mens 2's playing against Falmouth. From the starting whistle the 2's commanded the pitch and played a very dominant first half getting opportunities left, right and centre. After such a dominant half, tiredness had caught up with the team but they kept giving it there all eventually slotting the ball in the goal after an expertly co-ordinated short corner. As the game progressed and energy lacking, falmouth fought back and levelled the score to 1-1.

With the 2's game wrapping up, showing that this season they were going to be achieving the results they deserve, the debut game for the mens 3's was nearing closer. The whole team were eagerly warming up together before the time finally came for the game to commence. When the game began Falmouth showed a wealth of strength and pushed the team into conceeding 3 goals, but the 3's wouldn't let them have it that easy. With a few substitutions to not get too tired, team work helped them to turned the tides around and forced Falmouth back, even getting some chances on goal. Then half time came and a pep talk from the captain of the team and words of wisdom from the 1's captain filled the team with motivation to claw back the score. From the get go of the second half, the 3's appeared to be the dominant force moving up the pitch as a team and defending with all their might. With one of these presses as a full team on Falmouth, a wonderfully placed ball in the centre of the goal and right at the top so as the Falmouth keeper had no way to stop it the 3's scored a textbook goal in their debut game! With this new found confidence and much help from the 1st team from the side lines, the 3's kept their heads high and motivated until the end, unfortunately, conceeding 2 more goals before the final whistle. Despite not being a glamorous win which would have been the Icing on the cake for the newly formed team, it has certainly shown that as a team they will go far in the league, ending their 1st game 5-1.

Rounding off the day, the 1st team were put head to head with Penzance. From the side lines you could tell this was going to be a good show and the 1's did not disappoint. From the off Bodmin 1's were the team on top, playing with their usual high level of skill and with a calm head. This spilled over into the second half as well where they stayed on top rounding the day off with an outstanding and clearly dominant win of 7-1, there is little doubt that the 1st team will be fighting at the top of the league table.

To conclude, we would like to express our sincere thanks to our amazing sponsors for providing all of Bodmin's teams both Mens and Womens with a fresh shirt for the season ahead, even getting the keepers a vibrate shirt to leave no player out. Our wonderful sponsors are: iJo Power, G&W co., D2C Signs, Rundle & CO AGRI, County Mortgages, Dunbia for all pitching in to get the team shirts and not forgetting Ruthern Valley Holidays for providing the keepers shirts, also our goal sponsor Garage Vitals for donating our new goals. The new shirts are being modeled by the Mens 2's and Mens 3's in the pictures below.

Ben Tucker Sat, 16 Sep 2023 21:35:01 +0100 http://bodminhc.clubbuzz.co.uk/news/mens_preseason_friendlies_ http://bodminhc.clubbuzz.co.uk/news/mens_preseason_friendlies_ Awards evening 2023
Last night saw the club hold, the annual awards evening.
