Sat 13th - Devenport Services vs Bodmin

After a disappointing loss at home last weekend. Bodmin were determined to come away with some points this week as they travelled to plymouth to face an Experienced and strong Devonport Services.

From the Start Bodmin proved to be the better team, dominating most of the first half using our highly effective triangular press formation. Bodmin had many chances in the first half thanks to some brilliant runs down the wing from both Pete and JJ. Sadly Bodmins first goal from Sandy Finlay was disallowed and they were awarded a short corner instead which Ed Fitzgerald narrowly missed.

Going into the second half with the scores still 0-0, Bodmin continued to look the stronger side and it wasn't long before Carl scored the first goal of the game. However Devenport soon uped their game and caught a relaxed Bodmin napping momentarily and they were able to equalise. 1-1.

With the help of Storm Callums strong winds Niall was able to throw some awesome aerials for Sandy down the wing, who was able to then link up with Hugh who made some brilliant runs through the center of the pitch. However some controversial decisions from the umpires denied Bodmin some great opportunities on goal. it wasn't long before the Bodmin side started to tire and frustrations arise which Devonport were able to capitalise on and make some great runs themselves down the wing before they converted their second goal of the game. 2-1.

Ross who was having a fantastic game playing as right back, but determined to prove to the rest of us that hes better further up the pitch, switched in the last 20 minutes to play on the wing. It wasn't long before Bodmin were soon awarded a short corner thanks to some great attacking runs from Ed Fitzgerald, Ross and Samuel. A well practiced short corner meant Ross was able to claim his second goal of the season. And the match Finished 2-2.

Special Thanks to Laura, Rhiannon, Michèle Poynter for coming to watch.

MOM - Niall, for an overall great performance.

DOD- Sandy, for not stopping a rather crucial short corner (due to lack of communication..... Sam Baker)
