Match Report | Bodmin A 2 - East Devon B 2 On a windy, but fortunately not too wet, day Bodmin faced one of the newcomers to South West 2. After last weeks player shortage Bodmin were glad to field a more respectable 13 for today and filled with confidence took to the pitch. A cagey first half followed with few chances for either team, however East Devon finally broke the deadlock from a short corner. Half time came and Bodmin came back with renewed confidence and belief in their passing game, something that had gone missing for periods of the first half, and were rewarded with a short corner of their own. A misplaced injection found Timothy Retallick who fought his way past a defender and got a shot off which was neatly deflected by Robert Lees-Barton to make the score 1-1. The second half got progressively more heated and with three minutes to go east Devon converted another short corner to take the lead. Bodmin rallied well and controlled the final few minutes, putting on a show of passing and finally earning a short corner. With the final whistle blown the injection found James Napier at the top of the D for a strike which deflected up off the defenders stick and looped over the keeper to snatch a late point. Mom: Josh Tucker for some solid saves Dod: James Beeches for a whole list of reason, most notably trying to claim the final goal despite it going off his stomach! |
